This production of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors was set in a post-WWI Moroccan Bizarre. In designing the poster I did research on the area, and the the architecture and elements of design that one might expect to find.
This image began with two royalty free photos of the area surrounding the Moroccan Kasbah of the Udayas. I created an illustrated background from the photo by breaking it into gradient layers. I compiled several images of Moroccan doors to illustrate the main archway and created tile patterns.
Once the original design concept was made, I worked with the director to integrate the color scheme of the set design.
